Most people against say that sports make kids get severely injured, which is true, but only if the kid is unprotected and not in a safe environment, which is not the case with sports these days. Many may feel it is a wonderful idea for kids to play sports, but being involved in after school athletics may not be so great after all. According to an article by Amanda Ripley, sports can cost schools a great deal of money, up to $150,00 a year and by eradicating these sports, schools can save thousands of dollars (10).
