As a young college student, I am no stranger to the value of a dollar but also know that education and life experiences is also important. I want an education, but I also want to get out of my comfort zone. College is a time to find yourself and get some life experiences, and what is a better way to get some life experience and to find out what you are really made of, then by studying abroad. I am a young women, who works hard, and studies hard, and is determine to make it in this world, to make it to La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia. I hope to gain a new perspective on life and gain some work experiences. The program that that I applied to was the ISA Study abroad program. I first heard of this program during a study abroad information session during one of my schools honor day. For a science course, Earth sciences. Earth science because Australia has a beautiful landscape and it would be interesting to study it. Plus, it would fulfil a natural science requirement for my college. I would also take a language class as well. Probably Chinese, if not that, Italian or Japanese. I prefer Chinese because it is one of the world’s most leading languages and I toke a couple of Chinese classes when I was in high school and I really enjoyed them. Italian and Japanese are great as well. Italian because I have already taken Spanish, French and Latin so it should make the process of learning Italian a lot easier. I would love to take Japanese as well because I grow up watching Japanese anime and love cooking Japanese food so I figured, why not? I also plan to take an international business course, because the world is global, and people do business everywhere.
