Every day there are children and adults being diagnosed with ADHD disorder, and being given the option or choice if they would like to take prescription drugs to help with the ‘problem’. In a world where mental illness is almost considered a fictional disease, it is in fact something humans struggle with daily, and when it is studied in more detail, it becomes easier to understand, and easier to help find ways to progress without using drugs. As humans, we are always trying to find the right answer to anything and everything, so we are quick to assume many things within our lives, even more so when it comes to mental illness and disorders. In a rough estimate, and not specific to ADHD medication, around 59,000 to 65,000 people died of a drug overdose within the year of 2016 – it has become an epidemic worldwide, and those numbers are just within the US alone. …show more content…

A lot of times people will think it doesn’t truly exist, and that there are some people out there who are just naturally energetic. But, when you look at what ADHD means, “” ADHD” stands for “Attention Deficit Disorder”. Symptoms include hyperactivity, impulsiveness, and inability to pay attention, manage frustration, stay organized, or focus on tasks.” (NCPC. 2012 – 2017). Although, it may be more common within children, it is still very common within adult as well, which makes it hard for many aspects within life such as work and school.
