Hundreds of animals are being hurt everyday, but that can be stopped by eliminating animal testing.The Animal Welfare Act does not cover rats, mice, fish, or birds which are 95% of those animals are being used. Over 115 million dogs, cats, rabbits, and other mammals suffer and die every year, from animal testing. Although some people might say that animal experiments have contributed to many life saving treatments, animal testing should not be used, because it is unreliable, expensive and inhumane.

Some people might say that some animals are similar to humans in many ways; however, most are not which is why animal experiments are unreliable. According to the article from NCBI ¨Laboratory procedures and conditions exert influences on animals’ physiology and behaviors that are difficult to control and that can ultimately impact research outcomes¨ (Beauchamp). Michele McKay explains that during animal testing ¨animals endure chemicals being dripped into their eyes, injected into their bodies, forced up their nostrils or forced down their throats.¨ It stands reason that many animals are hurt and kept on getting hurt until they die. Therefore scientist do not stop using the animal until they are useless, which is just cruel and inhumane. In the article titled The Cruelty of Lab Animal Testing it states that ¨there are more than 115 million dogs, cats, rabbits, monkeys, and other mammals that suffer and die each year¨. It proves that animal testing does kill more than hundreds of animals, and those animals should be out in the wild with their family.
