Assisted Suicide is defined as “The suicide of a patient suffering from an incurable disease, effected by the taking of lethal drugs provided by a doctor for this purpose.” (Oxford) Assisted suicide is a topic of much debate, whether it to be legal, or not to be legal. I think it provides reasoning to a life changing, and ending decision, that a person makes for them self. It being illegal, invades a sensible space for the privacy, and freedom of expression of a person, it puts a burden of crime onto an ill person’s family, and it is the most humane way to end a willing person’s life. I think the self-possessed action of assisted suicide should be legalized in Canada.

In conclusion, the act of assisted suicide should be legalized in Canada. It reaffirms the freedom of choice for people, it makes it easier not only on the person committing assisted suicide, but to their family as well, and it’s more humane to let a person die with the dignity of leaving this world in happiness. The legalization of assisted suicide will do nothing but make this world a better place. This public opinion poll show solid majority support for the legalization of assisted suicide.
