Should there be a constitutional amendment allowing gays and lesbians to marry?
Over the past decade, we’ve come to realize that race isn’t the only reason people are being discriminated against. The LGBT community has become more prominent in the last few years. The term “closeted” has surfaced as a word to describe those who keep their “identity” hidden. Its use has increased vastly since violence against LGBT members grows to be a reoccurring issue, therefore making them fear being attacked. The bigger question is, Should they have the right to get married?

Before 2015, many were completely against same-sex marriage. There were protests and riots across the U.S. started because of gays asking for the right to marry, some were pro, and some were con. There are those who are against it because “gays cannot reproduce together, hence a reduction in repopulation” , and there are those who are for it and believe that
“homosexuals should have accessibility to the same rights as heterosexuals.”
