From 1995-2015 cancer cases have increased by 33%. This is an alarming number especially considering the advances in medicine during that period. What could be causing this increase? The answer is still unknown. Could it be the use of genetically modified soybeans? It can’t at this point, be proven that it is. However, it can’t be proven that it’s not. Americans and other countries worldwide should end production of genetically modified soybeans because long-term effects on our health are unpredictable.

Soybeans have to chance to increase the rate of food allergies. Soybeans have caused more people than ever to be allergic to them. They have also become so prevalent that they’ve become a listed food item on grocery products. Due to soybeans affordability, they have been used extensively in many food products. And because the food allergy is so high, it is difficult for people to find things to eat at times. Soybeans are very hard on the soil. Due to that problem, farmers have found that they can grow genetically modified soybeans on their land for only a limited amount of time before they have to do a crop rotation. Unlike other crops, genetically modified soybeans can make the land over a year to fully recover from the damage. Sometimes, the land may never be usable again. Soybeans have no real consumer benefit. Potentially, more soybeans can be grown, the costs of growing genetically modified soybeans stays the same. Resulting in that, consumers are going to have to pay the same costs for their food products, whether modifications were made to it or
