“Cannabis” (also known as marijuana) is the most frequently used illicit psychoactive substance in the world for medicinal and recreational purposes. Cannabis legalization has drawn the attention of state legislators, the federal government, and the citizens of the United States of America. In recent years, there has been an intense pressure on state legislatures across the United States to legalize marijuana, it has always been a popular topic in the media, but in 2010 that’s when the colossal debate started. Whether to legalize marijuana for recreational or, and medical use or to oppose it and let it remain illegal. In my opinion, marijuana should be legalized medically and recreationally for health benefits.

Cannabis is an annual plant that has been around for centuries, and it can be dated back to 2737BC where it originated in Central Asia Known for its medical use it quickly spread across continents and was eventually carried over to the Americas. Back then people didn’t have the advantage of antibiotics, so they relied strictly on their surroundings to make a mixture of healing ointments and medicines, which majority of the time involved the cannabis plant.
