Should Marijuana be legalized and regulated like alcohol?
Marijuana use in the United States has been on the rise in the recent years, even though it has been around for many years unregulated and undocumented but illegal. Regulating marijuana like alcohol could be show a significant decrease among our youth. That would allow people to take advantage of all the benefits of marijuana medically and/or recreational and still have a high concern for safety. It would also allow state governments to collect taxes which would make the community a better place to live, work, and even raise a family.

Between 2014 and 2017 Colorado marijuana sales have steadily increased over the years topping out at $506 million in tax revenue that is a 51 percent of the accumulated tax revenue that has gone to K-12 education, with $117.9 million of it to used to fund school construction projects (Colorado Pot Tax). Colorado has implicated a sales tax of 2.9 percent on medical marijuana and 15 percent of recreational adult use only. Washington has also generated a nice revenue that continues to climb every year.
