Marijuana should be legalized throughout the whole country
Medical marijuana is marijuana as that a doctor recommends for the treatment of a various medical conditions. Marijuana can be prescribed as a drug to treat a variety of disorders in some states. Other states have decriminalized it significantly, or made it legal for recreational use. Most notably with Colorado making it legal in 2012 with Colorado amendment 64. ("Should Marijuana Be Legalized? 10 Arguments in Favor.") Marijuana is a product similar to beer, being a substance that can be used to alter the mind of the user. The plant would be very successful because it is a product that could be grown like crops are already grown in the Midwest. Growing crops is a simple way to make profit, and especially since marijuana would be a crop that would generate a significant sum of money. Colorado has seen large economic boosts since legalizing marijuana in 2012, so I believe it should definitely be at bare minimum legal for medicinal purposes. Every dollar invested in the industry generates between $2.13 and $2.40 in economic activity. The only higher multiplier is spending by the federal government. Now those are the numbers, and people could argue that money isn’t the only factor when it comes to laws being made, but when you think about it, wasn’t America founded to be a country in the pursuit of happiness? If there’s two things that make people happy it’s pot and cash.
