Ever wanted to smoke the Devil’s lettuce? As of April 2017, 63% of Americans were in favor of legalizing marijuana, an all time high (De Pinto, 2017). Over 2,600,000 patients in America are prescribed to legal medical marijuana (Number of Legal Medical Marijuana Patients, 2016). Marijuana has become a highly used substance and is now legal in 8 states for recreational use and 29 for medical (State Marijuana Laws in 2017 Map, 2017). Marijuana should be legalized because it relieves many medical symptoms, it assists mental health conditions, it is safer than many other alternative medicines, and it will greatly benefit the economy.
