I feel that the author did a great job of achieving the goal to educate the readers of the medical use of marijuana. I also feel that Horowitz successfully reached her target audience. If you think optimistically or even hypothetically, everyone could be affected by the medical conditions mentioned in the article. Medical marijuana can be used for illnesses as simple as nausea or pain. If someone who was in a legal state read this article, and they had already exhausted all options, medical marijuana can be a sense of hope. Therefore, this article can actually benefit a citizen who is experiencing the mentioned illnesses. Horowitz provided medical research for each medical condition discussed, and did not form any bias opinions. She was very factual and even provided awareness of some cons to using medical marijuana if used incorrectly, such as addiction. Horowitz also stated that until marijuana is reclassified as a less-dangerous drug, research can not be furthered. Although her concerns were expressed, her research shows that there should not be anything to truly worry about. Overall, Horowitz appealed to the audience through ethos and pathos to get her point across, and I believe her goal was thoroughly
