Mary Jane, weed, cannabis are all names for marijuana. When people hear the word marijuana, they correlate this word to negative things. People link marijuana to drug dealers and drug abusers; however, the well-known drug is not all that bad. In hospitals, some have used cannabis to treat patients that have specific issues that can only be treated with medical marijuana. There are people in this world who believe that legalizing marijuana is incorrect and will cause more people to use marijuana; however, there are people in this world who believe legalizing marijuana is correct and can benefit some people. Medical Marijuana is used for a good purpose. Doctors, therapists, and others would utilize cannabis to control seizures, glaucoma, cancer, and many more (“Marijuana Has Scientifically Proven Medical Benefits”). There are many benefits that come out of smoking weed such as pain relief. Patients with glaucoma, seizures, cancer, emesis, and problems with spasticity, who suffer from these issues have used cannabis to feel somewhat of the relief. As mentioned earlier, there are some patients that have turned to smoking medical marijuana in order to balance their appetite and food intake (Pfeifer).
