Marijuana also known as cannabis is a very dangerous drug that has changed the lives of many people. Throughout the many years the states have argued that marijuana should be legalized. I say that it should be legalized for medical usage. It’s our individual right to do marijuana but it can have drastic effects on the way that we live and how we act. If you smoke marijuana 25-50 percent of people become addicted in the first day that they do it. There have been many surveys throughout the years on people who want marijuana vs who don’t. In the case Gonzales v. Raich they brought up that a person in the hospital had some marijuana. To deal with this situation the government burnt down all of the cannabis and shut down their supply. Marijuana can be good in the medical field but when you are smoking it that can be dangerous. We can all help prevent this very addictive drug if we don’t do it we could bring this conflict to an end. …show more content…

In 2005 35% of all the states in america have legalized marijuana. By 2011 50% of the U.S. has legalized marijuana. In 5 years it has gone up by 10%. By the end of this year 28 of the states will have legalized marijuana. People have spent so much of their own money just to get addicted. 50 billion dollars will have been made by 2026 off of this drug. The state started a survey with cops and 32% thought it should be legal for recreational and medical uses only 37% thought it should be for medical and 30% thought it should be illegal altogether. Another survey was put together by Pew which brought in 4,500 adults. 49% of them wanted marijuana to be legalized, 35% wanted it just for medical uses only, and 15% wanted it to be illegal. Our individual right protects that we can do this, but there are consequences. We must be smart and not be taken in and be weak to what we want we must fight against
