Legalization of marijuana has been a soft-spoken social topic ever since the 20th century, more recently it seems that you find this conversation being discussed everywhere including outlets like radio, television and even across the dining room table. It appears that this conversation has frequently brought up especially in the 21st century. In the year 2000 during the Bush/Gore presidential campaign, there were reports that demonstrated 31% of people in the U.S thought marijuana should be legal, while 63% thought it should stay illegal, leaving the last 6% at undecided or unconcerned with the topic (Fusion). In fact, there are many personal benefits, for example, reducing stress, fewer crimes are being committed due to calming effect with sales progressing new jobs are being created on daily basis. In conjunction with expanding multiple career fields it would also benefit states on an economic level. Accomplishing this by generating a massive amount of tax revenue to promote the educational campaign. In conjunction with these additional tax income, states are able to funds and create programs like health education, substance abuse prevention, school dropout prevention including to fix our school’s infrastructure. With proper regulations being placed, marijuana can be used and still maintain a safe community. It would make it easier for people to purchase, decreasing the hostility, and make the consumers a safe environment to purchase marijuana.
