In 1996, California was the first state in the United States to legalize marijuana for health purposes and as of today 26 more places have legalized it. According to several health and scientific studies, they say marijuana is used for therapeutic uses although the United States government believes different; they believe it is used mainly for recreational purposes and for teens to “have fun, believing it is not beneficial in any way. There are several cases that proof that patients with cancer who are prescribed marijuana to get better often do actually get better, the marijuana has been proven to attack cancer cells improving the patient's chances of survival. In a 2012 study done in California, 92% of people who use marijuana as medicine say that it indeed does work for them and helps their health improve. This study therefore proves that the legalization of marijuana would be greatly beneficial to sick patients in order for them to get better. In another scientific study the discovered that 76% of professional, medical doctors have agreed and approved of the legalization of marijuana for medical reasons to help patients. Doctors spend their whole career and life dedicated to medicine and to help people get better and even they believe that marijuana has the ability to help people.
