The healthier the food, the healthier the student. Schools are now considering implementing a healthier, new lunch menu. Not only will this new menu benefit the students; but it will benefit the entirety of the school as well. Changing the school lunch menu to a healthier menu is a fantastic idea because students have easier access to better nutrition, students can develop new health habits, and student health overall will definitely increase. Some may say that the new menu change is an awful idea. The reasoning behind this belief may be that the change will cause student uproar. Although, students can eventually grow into the new menu and realize that it is here to help them and not to hurt them. Clearly, there should be a menu change. While looking around a school cafeteria, it is easy to see that the majority of students are not providing themselves with enough nutrition to get through the day. The majority will only have a soda, maybe a bag of chips or a cookie; and some may even have absolutely nothing. Going further with this, a reason this may be happening is because the current menu is just not appealing to these nutritionally deprived students at all! They have nothing to bring from home and then they see nothing they want at school; therefore, they are only hurting themselves by eating barely anything. School cafeterias can intrigue students by supplying colorful fruits, luscious vegetables, and another possibility is creating a new dish to compliment the new menu changes! Giving this nutritional opportunity to students, making handling their health easier for them, will inspire so much in their lives that they would not expect it to. Equally as important, with a new menu comes new habits. After at least a week has past, students have adapted to the new school menu and picked out some new foods they absolutely adore.
