“Beep! Beep! Beep!” I turn, lazily shutting off the alarm as I try to wake myself up and convince myself to get up. I wanted to sleep more, wanted to stay home, wanted to wear whatever I felt like wearing. However, my desires do not matter, I have to get up at the crack of dawn, get dressed according to the school dress code and go to school on time. It doesn't matter that I did not receive enough hours of sleep. Public schools need to make a change, they say they want to better our society and each individual, yet they seem to value one more than the other.
