Yet another school shooting. Yet another headline and yet no action.
This is Dylan Gosselin, let's talk about how the US government thinks that school shootings are ok.
You might feel like I'm a bit harsh, however, I don’t know if I really am. There was a school shooting massacre that took place in Parkland, Florida, with 17 victims the only thing that the government did was basically give their condolences to the families. In the united states it's you're legally allowed to purchase an AR-15 "military style rifle" before they can legally buy beer, which is ridiculous. You don’t even have to go through a background check if you buy a gun at a gun show making it extremely easy for people that have committed felonies or have mental illness to buy any type of gun.
The number one reason why the United States don’t want to get rid of their gun laws is because of self-defense, yes in a way I do understand how guns can make you feel safer, on the other hand, looking the statistics from 2007 to 2011 only 0.12 percent of victims of all property crimes used a firearm to protect themselves. From 2007 to 2011 only 0.79 percent of victims of violent crimes protected themselves with a gun. Meaning that not even 1 percent of the population even uses the gun for security.
The problem with the united states gun laws doesn’t only have to do with the guns. It also has to do with the ammunition types and the modifications a citizen can legally buy for his weapon. A gun that can injure and a gun that can effortlessly kill can be determined between what bullets you use and how you can modify your weapon. In the united states, you can simply buy military upgrades for your guns without any hassle and name the type of ammunition you want because they have
