Gun Control Due to the amount of school shootings is gun control a complication right now? Do stricter gun laws just make it harder for abiding citizens to defend themselves? Just because there's a shooting should they tighten the laws of California more than they already are? There is a slogan that goes by, “Guns do not kill people, people kill people.” Shootings do not simply happen from the gun itself, but the person behind it. By creating stricter gun laws, it will restrict those who obey the law and could possibly increase crime. Criminals don’t follow the law either way, so what makes everyone think gun laws will change the way things are? Having this around students will feel more safe; thus they should be all around school scavenging. Ultimately they should educate kids more and show them right from wrongs. I know school shootings triggered people debating on tightening gun laws, but it will only make it harder for abiding citizens to obtain guns to defend themselves. This is the school's responsibility not the whole nations, so school districts should get more cameras around schools to be more aware of whats going on around. Even more importantly people should be more attentive where they have their gun placed; otherwise, there child could get there hands on it. An example would be Sandy Hooks shootings shooter, Adam Lanza ,got his guns from his mom's closet. We need tougher punishment not more laws that are just going to be bent.
