An obviously huge debate in the news currently are school shootings and gun control laws. Being only three months into the year 2018, there have already been 19 shootings located on school campuses. Because of this, many question what the right solution is that will result in less school shootings. While many people think that it's the banning of guns, other people have ideas such as looking into bullying and mental health or even things like arming our teachers or adding more security to our schools. Though I'm not sure what the correct solution is, there is no doubt that this year should be one that makes the history books. I believe that if this is put into history books, there will only be one side to this argument, and that will vary depending on what comes out of this debate. If the side against gun control wins, and the government does something about gun control, I feel that history books will try to cover the shootings up or make them look minor compared to what they are. This is because of the censorship in America. Every country has a tendency to point out everybody else's flaws in order to cover their own, and this seems like it would be one of those cases. Again, I believe that the truth wont fully be told in the books, but there may be more about the school shootings than the gun control outcome would. The side to this one, is that this information would most likely be put into psychology and sociology books instead of the history books. Though the event wouldn't actually be censored, there would be significantly less students learning about it. When they did, they most likely wouldn't receive information about the actual shootings and walk outs, but "Why mental health is important"
