The most talked about thing in politics in 2018, gun control. Gun control is a very “hot” subject in the US right now. The main reason for that is school shootings. School shootings are why this is in the news for the first place. My stance on gun control is that it is not going to help with all of these shootings and crime in the US.
The number one reason why we should not have more strict gun control is to protect young women from sexual crimes and domestic violence. Most young women that come out of high school that are smaller and weaker than most people are more vulnerable to sexual crimes and getting jumped. A solution to that is a concealed carry license. A lot of women that get a handgun at age 18 feel very safe. Most people know that you cannot buy a handgun at age 21 from a licensed dealer, you can buy a handgun from anyone who is a nonprofessional dealer, like a gun show an etc.
I'm going to cover why banning “assault rifle” is not going to help with anything. With all of these shootings, CNN is pointing out one gun, the AR-15. First off if Trump somehow lets that law pass, the government will get sued thousands of times until the law is declared unconstitutional. Also banning guns would make shooting a lot more likely if someone wants to commit a shooting their not going to worry about if them having a gun is legal or not. It would make them more likely because the shooter does not have to worry about someone with a CCL (concealed carry license). Banning all guns would also mean one very bad thing, no hunting.
