On March 24, 2018 many individuals will be marching to try and end gun violence and end school shootings. Many elementary, high school and college students have lost their lives due to school shootings, it is time to take a stand and end school shootings and save lives of our students and the generation afterwards. The change starts with us. As on March 12, 2018 there have been more than 18 school shootings,since the beginning of the year. That is 3 shootings per week. And our government has not put a stop into it. We have to speak up for ourselves because our government is not taking a stand and trying to protect our lives of our generation. Students nationwide are coming together and making their voice be heard. They are standing proud and tall and sticking up for each other and for their classmates who have lost their lives due to this horrible event. Students are showing the government that they are the future and that the generation after them will be the future and instead of making excuses for the reason that the shooting occurred they are putting a stop to guns period. Students have the be the voice for each other because the government has failed them once to many times. We are losing our classmates, our teachers, our friends, our siblings. Our parents are losing their sons and daughters and it’s time that it all ends! I parents shouldn’t be afraid to send their child to school because they are afraid something going to happen and they aren’t able to protect them, the school should be protecting each and every student the moment that they walk in. Students shouldn’t be scared walking to school because they are afraid that today might be their last day they should be able to walk in and be able to learn something new and take it with them in the future. Teachers shouldn’t be afraid to walk into school and think about if they told their family at home they love them because today could be the last day and they don’t want to leave them here without them hearing those sweet words.
