Civil rights leader Mahatma Gandhi wrote, “ Be the change you want to see in the world.” In the past month teenagers have become that change to make it so that schools wouldn’t have to worry about school shootings ever again, but have still run into the same problem of how to stop it. Some of the many possible conclusions are to ban assault rifles, give teachers guns, and making it harder to buy guns. We must be the change in our world.
In the second Amendment of the Constitution, it says that every man may carry arms. This doesn’t mean that we may carry assault rifles that is made to kill, but instead allows us to arm ourselves with pistols and rifles to “Protect” us. If we were to take away these weapons of destruction many lives would be saved and will have less mass killings. Unlike the pistol which can only shoot one bullet at a time, assault rifles can rapidly fire making it a even bigger risk of causing more damage than good. As an american citizen my rights are one of the most important thing to me, but if it comes between my family or my life and my rights I would choose safety.

Though I do believe that having metal detectors in the schools and having more lock down drills could make these occurrences rarer than they should be.
