Standardized Testing, distributed by the government to school districts for their students to complete. Theses tests are put into effect to measure how well a student and educator were doing in their fields. The results were never used for much other than measuring how much the students were doing with learning the material that their teachers taught them to make sure they were getting the right curriculum. Prior to these exams, teachers were able to have more freedom with what they wanted to teach and how they taught it. They were able to relate to their students and encourage their learning in other ways other than just prepping for these tests. In the state of New Jersey, the tests that are distributed to their students are the NJASK, HSPA, PARCC, and the SATs. Some of these tests like the NJASK didn't have a huge affect on students, the result of these tests were to observe each school district and their teachers to see how well teachers were teaching their students and seeing how well their students obtained their information. In result would determine how they would further instruct their students. There was no prepping for the test because no teacher wanted to stress out their students, they wanted them to do the best they could no matter what the score. The SATs is a test that colleges use to determine who to accept into their school.The HSPA was a test administered to eleventh graders, to determine whether they would graduate high school or not. The PARCC testing replaced the HSPA in 2015 which is now being used throughout all grades to determine if children should move up.
