A refugee is a person who been forced to leave their country in order to escape war, persecution, or natural disaster. Syria is going through one of the biggest refugee crisis since World War Ⅱ . Civilians are fleeing the country because of violence, collapsed infrastructure (HealthCare, Education System), and for the safety of their child. There are 4.3 million Syria that are refugee, 6.6 million are displaced with half of them being children, and 13.5 million people in Syria in need of humanitarian assistance (World Vision Staff). America was born as a nation of immigrants. President Obama reminded us that immigration has shaped our national character (American Magazine). Immigrants are part of the American life. We are a country of seconds chances. Why would we want to stop people from wanting a new life or a fresh start in life? I know there are some negative of letting Syrians into our country, like one of them being in ISIS. We have people who are in ISIS living with us now we might not even know about. During World War Ⅱ the U.S admitted almost 1.3 million immigrants in 1937 when the war broke out in China and less than 24,000 in 1943 (World War 2 and Immigration). This was also changed people's attitudes toward immigrants and those who might become immigrants and presented enormous challenges to current policies. There were a lot of security question about the potential enemies, as Japanese and Germans that might be coming and or living in this country. We still let the German people into our country and we are still here. No matter where you go in the world you will see terrorism. You can’t really stop terrorism from happend. It going to be here for a long time, but now it time to step-up can take a change and do what not many country are not doing by taking in Syrians refugee.
