For most people it is common sense not to text while driving, but even so it has become an increasing issue for the last few decades. With thousands of individuals each year getting in the motor vehicle accident because they are distracted by their electronic devices. Even though the government has passed many regulations to discourage individuals from using their phones while driving, people still do it daily. Laws are not going to be what makes people stop texting and driving, but advancements in technology is. Apps like LifeSaver do just that they “…block the temptation” (Doody, 2016). They prevent the driver from being able to use their phone while they are in a vehicle. Although there are some design flaws in apps like these for example, it does not distinguish the different between riding in a car and riding on a train (Doody, 2016). If the technology for these apps keeps continuously being improved and updated, they could potentially be the solution to this ever growing issue.

Advancements in car infotainment centers would also drastically lower the amount of people on their phones while driving. An infotainment center is all the electronics that are on a cars dashboard, such as the Radio, Navigation, and Bluetooth.
