De-Extinction

Do you think that bringing back extinct species would be a good idea, well I don’t. In my opinion I do not think that scientists should bring back Woolly Mammoths for many reasons. Some of those reasons would be, if God made Woolly Mammoths extinct then he did it for a reason. One more reason is that we don’t have anywhere to put the Woolly Mammoths. Also, what if something went wrong with the Woolly Mammoths and they got sick, if that were to happen we would have wasted a lot of money on something that turned out to fall apart.

One reason I think that Woolly Mammoths should be extinct is because if God had Woolly Mammoths extinct, he did it for a certain reason that should not be undone. As George Church says, “Woolly Mammoths keep places cold by eating grass which increases reflected light”, if it gets colder than the people living where the Woolly Mammoths are could die. George Church also says that, “ reanimation is not a panacea for ecosystems at risk”, so if it is not good for ecosystems at risk then why would we do it in the first place. These are some reasons that I think De-extinction shouldn’t happen. …show more content…

Stuart Pimm says, “In every case of De-extinction without an answer to where do we put them”, if scientists don’t have a place to put the Woolly Mammoths then what would have been the point of spending all that money and learning nothing. Mara Grunbaum says that “it may have advantages, but does that mean it’s a good idea”, I feel the same as her because when something has it’s advantages doesn’t mean it's a good idea.
