Dear Dr. Williams I understand that you’re the new superintendent of our school district. I would like to congratulate you on the new job, and welcome you to the Carrollton Farmers Branch School District. Out of the four schools in our district; my son Asad attends Creekview High School, I would like to share some concerns I have that developed in the recent amount of weeks with you. The main concern I have is; one of Asad’s teacher told him he does not have to teach anything to the student, and he will still get paid. My son is also being taught for things that will be on TAKS test, but nothing that really deals with the course. After some search on my own on teacherstenure.org; I found out that most teachers have great job protection and that gives them the right to do whatever they like in their classroom. If I am incorrect please inform me of what I am misunderstanding. One thing I found that was interesting; in 2009 the New Teacher Project found that 81% of school administration knew a poorly performing tenured teacher at their school; however, 86% of administration said they do not always pursue dismissal of teachers because of the costly and time consuming process. I am sure that tenure has offered great things to the public educators, but this action from Asad’s teacher is unacceptable. …show more content…

On Carleton.edu I discovered; teachers are increasingly only teaching “to the test” due to the widespread fear that their students will fail resulting in their termination. Dr. Williams my son is very intelligent and he has the ability to comprehend what the teacher is teaching. The teacher is going to slow; she is only teaching what is going to be on the TAKS test. My kid and other kids deserve a better education; they should receive a creative, personal, relevant, and well-rounded curriculum. I have a few suggestions I would like for you to
