The effects of climate change are not something that you may notice in your everyday life. While your life may go on the same as it always has the ecosystem is taking the brunt of the beating. The cryosphere (frozen water on earth) is melting at a record pace. Leading to an unprecedented rise is the sea level. It is estimated that some coastal cities may fall under the sea level in the future.

B. Another effect is that the rising temperature of the ocean is leading to the rising acidity of the ocean. Per edf.org the acidity of the ocean has risen forty percent leading to the death of sea life. Perhaps the most prominent example of this is the Great Barrier Reef. It is estimated that nearly 67% of the northern part of the Great Barrier Reef is either dead or dying. To put this in perspective the Great Barrier Reef is the largest single living organism in the world. It is estimated to be 500000 years old it was here long before humans were and was supposed to be here long after we left.

One more effect that climate change is having on our ecosystem that it can promote the killing of forests something that should hit us close to home considering that forests are part of what makes Northwest Arkansas so great.
