Silo Issues in petSIM Company: Silo mentality in a business is a term used to define a situation where various departments do not want to share information with others in the same company. Silo mentality affects the overall performance of the organization because it reduces morale and this may end up causing demise in the productive company culture. Departmental silo is a situation that is growing rapidly in PetSIM Company. It is the role of the managers to work out and make sure that this issue is broken down because it works towards organizational barrier. PetSIM Company has contributed to silos because there is very little interaction with professionals in other departments. Even though the company has the sense of camaraderie, various units functions very separately. The training of the new staffs is done separately, the workers show up on the first day and they are shown their work separately (Pilcher, 2012. The sales people use pen and paper to track their customers. This has proved hard because the information is hard to travel to the other departments because the electronic managers have to ask for the physical book.
