When considering my future career, I hope to find a profession in which I can continue my interest for science along with fulfilling my aspiration to help and benefit the lives of others. Going into pharmacy would allow me to pursue my aspiration but also provide me with more knowledge of a future field that I hope to go into. Pharmacists today are more involved with their patients and have become more attainable to the community, and due to this I am looking forward to the challenges of a career that involves me learning something everyday. Pharmacy for me is a profession that benefits the lives of others along with being a fast developing profession that is heavily involved with medicine for many different types of problems.

By working closely with a pharmacist, I was able to gain an insight into what a job role of a pharmacist is and what skills would I need to develop on in order to become a good pharmacist. In addition to this I also obtained more of an insight into the education I would require to become a pharmacist so I was ready to face the oncoming challenges. By looking at the hard work put in by the pharmacist and the counter assistants I can now say that I appreciate the hard work put in by pharmacies to better the lives of others and the community. By taking BTEC science and studying unit on biology, chemistry, physics and maths as given me a wider extent of knowledge and information which I was able to apply to all coursework that was given to me. Also as pharmacy is linked with chemistry and maths, it gave me an insight into different methods or applications I would need within a chemical industry along with being able to produce various different types of experiments. Within BTEC science I was able to make aspirin and was also taught how to extract paracetamol from a paracetamol tablet to see how much of the paracetamol compound was within a table in ratio to other chemicals that made the tablet. Along with this I am also taking A level chemistry externally to widen my knowledge on a pharmacy field and through this I was able to develop an interest into the composition of molecules along with making and extracting different medication to be able to see exactly how medicine has become more
