Pit bulls are thought to be vicious dogs by nature. These animals have been tested by the American Temperament Testing Association and were proved to have a better temper than golden retrievers, Labradors, and poodles. The same association proved that these animals do not have an inherent behavior to be violent toward humans. The size of the human does not matter either. Any dog will nip at a child pulling the dogs tail, but pit bulls will not attack by their nature.

If the media continues to expose these heroic stories of Pit Bulls and didn’t have such a closed-minded view of them as a breed, more people would be able to see all the good things that Pit Bulls do every day. Pit Bulls would no longer be associated with gangs, drug dealers and dog fighting anymore due to their new social status. According to the Mid-American Bully Breed Rescue, there are approximately 5,000,000 registered pit bulls in the United States alone (Pit). Of that 5,000,000 there are roughly 35,000 in shelters. In Los Angeles alone, 72,800 are euthanized each year; if you break that number down, that means about 200 helpless pit bulls are euthanized each day, however if you would rather look at the bigger picture, in the U.S., 728,000 pit bulls are euthanized in just one year. Numbers like these are immensely horrid especially if you are an animal lover. Has there been a situation where it was hard to find, out what type of dog to get? I had that trouble too, but I always decided that I wanted to get a Siberian Husky. Instead of getting a Boxer or a Shetland Sheepdog (Shelties), I should get a Siberian Husky. They all have a background, the cost for purebred, the cost for adoption, and certain ways to take care of them. Boxers are a good dog to have, and Boxers have a lot of history.
It’s all how they are raised. I know a lot of people that have them. “My uncle for one has 2 pit bulls. They are very gentle and loving. Their names are Shadow and Dingo.
