The campaign we will be running will be an eco-friendly paperless campaign in order to align with the values of planting trees. We want families to be able to “plant their roots” in the East Lansing community. A detailed flyer will be distributed to local new stations, radio stations, and various social media accounts to promote the event throughout the community. The more people we are able to reach, the larger opportunity for future donations and participation. The main goal of this campaign is to involve the community in restoring and maintaining the beauty of the Chesterfield Hills neighborhood, and to create a place where families can come back to and reflect upon in the future. By planting more trees, not only does the project help …show more content…
We feel that by focusing on these theories, long term community members, such as parents and senior citizens, will want to make their neighborhood even more beautiful than before. When utilizing ethos, pathos, and logos, the main theme of creating and building a better future for future generations to come is clearly present. Firstly, ethos represents the ethical practices of sustaining the community. Parents want their communities to be clean and presentable, not dilapidated and distressed. By planting more trees, communities can receive an easy and inexpensive face lift that can last for more than a lifetime. Next, pathos evokes emotions and vulnerability from individuals. Reminding parents and seniors, that this world, and community, need to be left in better shape than when they received it is extremely important. Ethos helps community members realize that this project is truly vital for them and future communities to come. Lastly, logos represents the logic in a decision. If community members donate a small amount of money, their money from one initial investment can be stretched over a long period of time for the future benefit of the community. Just one dollar can make a huge impact. That is why this project is such a logical …show more content…
People will implement all of the elements of this theory when deciding whether or not to donate to help raise money for the new trees. The reason our campaign will use the theory of planned behavior instead of theory of reasoned action is because it will involve people deciding whether or not they have control over donating or not (Gass & Seiter, 2014, p. 52). While people may have the extra money to donate to this cause, they may not perceive that they do if they feel the money would best serve another purpose, or think they need to save the money for some other reason. If they believe they have the means to donate, they will most likely want to do so if they deem this project to be a worthwhile cause. Most people will probably have positive thoughts about the outcomes of their behavior by donating. Hopefully, due to the campaign, they will evaluate the outcomes of the behavior to be positive. When community members evaluate their outcomes to be positive, will be a significant aspect be in part because of the campaign making them feel like donating is the right thing to do in order to make a positive environment for future generations. For the campaign to really be effective it will be best if people also believe that other people in their neighborhood will be donating as well (normative beliefs and opinions of others) and if they feel the motivation to comply with what others think (Gass
