Exposition: Rachel Watson takes the same commuter train every morning and sees this home with the perfect couple until one morning she sees something unusual.

Rising action: The day after Rachel sees “jess”, not with “Jason” as she though were their names, she is with another man. Rachel hears on the news that “Megan Hipwell” the babysitter of Rachel’s ex-husband’s child which she thought was named jess is missing and she immediately thinks that she is with that man she saw Megan with that night. The night of the disappearance of Megan Hipwell Rachel had also been drinking as usual ever since she couldn’t have a child and got divorced to Tom Watson, had woke up the next morning with bumps, bleeding and bruising why was that?

Climax: upon hearing the disappearance and now death of Megan Hipwell, Rachel is in suspicion on who would possibly kill her. The protagonist Rachel Watson learns an important lesson through the investigation of Megan Hipwell. Rachel learns that betrayal was one big part of all of this. Mostly because Tom cheated on Rachel with Anna, Tom cheated on Anna with Megan, and Megan had cheated on Scott with Kamal and Tom.
