Guz takes the boy to a baseball game and the boy is confused because he has never seen the game played. He asks Guz a lot of questions, and he gets annoyed and says just watch. When the boy watches the teams number one player hit a home run, the boy is shocked and even seems surprised.

Shaara provides insight into the thoughts and decisions that were made that would inevitably determine the outcome of the bloodiest battle of the Civil War. The northern concept of war that they were fighting for the sake of freedom and to restore the union by taking in prisoners and preserving he high grounds at Gettysburg helped them force the Confederates to retreat.
In the novel Fallen Angels by Walter Dean Myers, the main character is Richard Perry. In the beginning of this book, Richard was a generous and eager to start as a soldier in the Vietnam War. He soon becomes responsible and understanding of what it is like to be a black soldier in the war and how hard it can be to the other soldiers. Near the end, Richard becomes powerful and alerted near the end of the book. This character clearly relates to the theme of the book, which is age and race can impact somebody’s life a lot.

Killer Angels Killer Angels is a historical fiction novel that is about the Battle of Gettysburg. The novel starts out on June 29, 1863 and of course at this time it was the Confederate Army (also known as the Army of Northern Virginia) against the Union Army (also known as the Army of the Potomac) with the bloodiest war ever fought on American soil- the American Civil War. The Killer Angels, by Michael Shaara, is a riveting and masterly crafted novel that provides multiple inside perspectives of the Battle of Gettysburg during the Civil War. The book can easily be read and comprehended by teenagers. Shaara uses many different methods that can keep high school students engaged in the book and also highlight many aspects of wars they might not have previously known. Shaara includes perspectives of multiple different generals, colonels, and soldiers fighting on both sides of the wars. The book stays engaging because readers are provided with the inside thoughts of the different generals which helps readers learn why the decisions during the battle were made and also makes the characters more relatable and real.
