“We grow in unity, in communion, through: the sacraments, the charisms given to each of us by the Holy Spirit, and charity” (Francis, p. 11). Throughout this book, Pope Francis teaches us how significant the Seven Sacraments are in our lives as Catholics. The sacraments are a way in which we can truly encounter Jesus Christ and experience with him on a closer and more personal level. Also, through the sacraments, we are offered salvation and growth in our faith, which are essential if we desire to live our lives as devoted Catholics. Not only should we partake in each of the sacraments, but we should also focus on living out the mission of Christ that is passed on to us from the Holy Spirit through these Seven Sacraments.

87). If someone is extremely sick, or if death is at all a threat in their life at the moment, they are eligible to receive this sacrament. Each time this sacrament is performed, the priest comes in contact with the person who is suffering, and anoints them with blessed oil and says multiple prayers for them in hopes for a peaceful crossing over to eternal life with God in Heaven. Although the priest comes to bless the person who is ill, Jesus is the one who relieves the person in the end. I believe that we can take the message that this sacrament portrays and apply it to our own life. Although we are not capable of blessing those who are suffering or ill, we can use this sacrament as an example which influences us to help those whom we know are struggling in some aspect of their life, and support them through the difficult
