Italian entrance to World War II with the Axis powers can best be described as a rash decision made by a fascist tyrant: Benito Mussolini. After Mussolini’s dismissal in July of 1943, American occupation of Italy continued in order to push German soldiers out of Italy. Even after Italian liberation in 1945, American occupation continued to aid in the implementation of a sound government and to continue establishment as allies (History). Between American and Italian people during occupation laid a barrier of hierarchy of American society and ignorance of the culture and history of Italy. Through the guidebooks given to American soldiers during occupation of Italy, American attempts to destroy this barrier can be seen through the progression
Some of the short term impacts that happened are, at the time it had reduced the number of effective empires in the world. Also Hitler claimed that Austria was on there side and then invade and took it over.
Rome is the capital city of Italy and was founded in 753 BC. Once the Roman Empire broke down (395 AD) the remaining cities became city states and were separate from each other. Hot wars broke out and countries went to civil wars that are still lasting today. It also drove the Soviet Union into debt trying to keep up with development of western development. Due to the fact that the factories needed to make planes and other materials needed in the war effort, they needed a lot of workers to help produce as much as they can, as fast as they can. The factories also increased the pay wages in factories by 50 cents to help influence people to work their. Fascist Italy and Nazi Germany were similar in that both were dictatorships. Both Mussolini and Hitler came to power through legal means and believed that people were divided into either inferior or superior races. For example, Hitler was obsessed with the Aryan race and called for the genocide of Jews during WWII. In addition, both Mussolini and Hitler favored the wealthy, believed that an individual was meaningless and must submit to the decisions of their leaders, and aimed at self-sufficiency so that each could survive entirely without international trade. Furthermore, Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy “had aimed for prestige and power for their countries, and brought instead humiliation and destruction” (Tarr, R.,
Italy entered the Second World War as an ally of the German Reich. But later in 1943, Italy surrendered to the Allies and declared war against Germany. After capitulation of Italy, German forces committed serious breaches of international human rights and of jus cogens norms. These include massacres and deportations of civilians and Italian soldiers, whom were used as labor force in German-occupied territories. After the Second World War Germany tried to compensate for all the crimes, unfortunately a large number of Italians were unable to claim refund and brought civil cases against Germany in front of an Italian Court of Cassatination, with interest to claim it.
After World War 1 ended, problems started to build up. Especially financial problems. People became unemployed worsening the economy issue. Resulting in the currency to devalue until it was worth almost nothing. Due to this, and some other issues, the economy spiralled down even more.

The Economic development in Italy The lack of coal as a primary energy source in Italy pushed the country to an industrialisation process totally different from the European pioneers of industrialisation. According to Toninelli (2010) the reliance on hydropower and later on on hydrocarbons was one of the main driver of the peculiar Italian economic development. As a consequence, the manufacturing firms were small energy efficient units, mainly located in the northern part of the country and they relied mostly on waterpower as energy resource.
