PROGRESSIVE What has Progressive done well over the years to attract new insurance customers? Over the years, Progressive has been innovative in communicating and pricing its services. Progressive works by offering information about their offerings and then does a side-by-side comparison of their offerings along with competitors offerings. Not only is this more convenient for consumers, but allows them to create an insurance plan that meets their individual needs. They were the first insurance company to offer a drive thru claim service and reduced rates for low-risk drivers. Why does it resonant so well with consumers? Flo has helped consumers to respond positively to Progressive’s marketing campaigns. Consumers resonate so well with Flo because they find her to be memorable and likable. Her appearance and the use of white costumes, white spaces and backgrounds help the ads stand out from other ads by creating contrast. Progressive uses variations on the same theme to help drive home the brand claims. Flo also represents traditional service values while using a high tech approach. She provides a human face for what might otherwise be a completely computer mediated exchange. What else should Progressive be doing to ensure it stays top of mind in the competitive industry of insurance? Progressive should continue using Flo in their marketing campaigns. Victoria’s Secret is known for gorgeous photoshopped supermodels while other lingerie brands such as Arie and Adore Me focus on natural beauty by not photoshopping and having average size and plus size models in their campaigns. This resonates with consumers better because it’s something they can relate to. Another challenge Victoria’s Secret faces is losing consumers due to their products being so highly priced. Victoria’s Secret’s products are high quality, however they are very expensive. Other brands offer similar if not the same products at much more affordable
