At the age of 25, Muhammad married a Maccan widow named Khadija. Khadija happened to be very wealthy, which led to the elevation of Muhammad's status making him more known around Mecca, which truly helped later on when he began to spread his new religion. Even though Muhammad was living a happy life with his new wife, his suffering and hardship was not yet over. Mohammad had eight children with his wife, six of which were girls. One day, while meditating in the cave at Mount Hira, Mohammad was visited by an angel known as Angel Gabriel. Angel Gabriel spoke to Mohammad the word of God and reveals to him what are known as the first ayats.
