Animal testing gets overlooked in today’s society, nobody realizes the negative effects of it. The public also doesn’t know what goes on behind their backs during the processes of scientific research. Vets may claim that the animal testing is being done for scientific research but ninety percent of the animals that are tested in the US labs are not included in the official statistics of animal testing (“11 Facts about Animal Testing”). It wouldn’t be a problem if the testing wasn’t affecting the animals but is has became cruel and inhumane to them in many ways. Animals used in experimenting are normally forced inhalation, forced feeding, and prolonged periods of physical restraint (“Should Animals be Tested for Scientific or Commercial Testing?”) . When people experiment on humans, there is ethical regulations that has to be followed before being able to perform any procedure or test on them. Certain chemicals are used to see which animals will die before using this dose in the any other experiment. LD50 is a commonly used lethal test, this test is used to find out which chemical will kill 50% of the animals being used in the experiment (“Should Animals be Tested for Scientific or Commercial Testing?”). US labs test drugs on animals before they use them on any human, this is ethically wrong. In factories, animals must have freedom from hunger and thirst, freedom from discomfort,
