What does it take to open a small town business and convert it to be nationwide? Is every human being capable of dealing with all the complications, stress, and failures that occur in the process? How much time, money, and effort is exhorted into building the best corporation it can be? These are a few questions that may come to mind when examining a corporation that has conquered it all. From the inspiration of one man, and his “sixth sense”, Petco Inc. has made a name for themselves in the pet care industry.

The competitive analysis is based on two competitors that are ranked fairly high overall pet grooming. PetSmart and Petco offer devoted associates which are trained and enjoy interaction with all animals. A typical day spent at these two places I observed customers are interested in learning further about their precious pets. PetSmart is focused mainly on product sales than the grooming industry. Where Petco provides a friendly atmosphere, however there is a large number of employee turnover.
As we made our way towards the back of the clinic, I could hear the puppy whimpers from the ill dogs, and the soft meows from kitties that were not feeling great. “I know Max, it breaks my heart to see you in such pain but I promise this is only to get you better,” were the comforting words coming from the back. The four locations in Arizona that do accept animals have veterinary doctors that alternate from shelter to shelter. “Our doctors also provide medical attention to pets that already have a home.”
Along with affecting clientele and veterinarians, corporate veterinary clinics also make it harder for the smaller privately owned veterinary clinics to thrive. For instance, in the business world the more influence a business has in its niche the better chance it has to get more lucrative deals with distributors according to an article written by Mary Kramer called “The Pros and Cons of working at a Corporate Vet Clinics”(p.3) This affect the smaller veterinary businesses because if the larger corporate clinics are making better deals with the distributors than the other smaller clinics the distributor could put more focus on the larger thriving corporate clinic; effectively cutting the smaller private clinic out of their system. In the veterinary workforce, some believe that there is a shortage in large animal and food-animal veterinarians in rural areas. There is no shortage but more of an imbalance in veterinary professions. Most veterinarians cannot make a living in the rural areas, therefore they do not practice veterinary medicine there. As a solution, The Veterinary Medicine Loan Repayment program will help veterinarians pay out their debt and in return they will provide veterinary services in the areas that are short in veterinarians. Evidently money is an issue, and one of the reasons as to why veterinarians do not seek work in rural areas.

Volunteering with SIRVS in rural communities further emphasized the interconnectedness of human and animal health, reinforcing my commitment to serving underserved and underrepresented communities. Witnessing the struggles faced by animals in underprivileged areas fueled my determination to make a tangible difference in those communities. This led to my first goal - to provide accessible veterinary care to underserved communities through outreach programs and mobile clinics. Furthermore, my experience volunteering at the Minneapolis Animal Control Center emphasized the wider scope of animal welfare issues and the vital role veterinarians assume in advocacy. This experience heightened my awareness of systemic issues and highlighted the importance of addressing them for lasting change.

High intensity poultry production has come under intense scrutiny in both public and professional circles. The structure of modern caging systems, the high volume of chickens relative to caging space, and recent alterations in the laws concerning the interface of these two issues has the nation questioning current industry practices. As a veterinarian, the fundamental issue lies in whether I should act as an antagonist or advocate in relation to the modern structure of poultry production. It is essential that I act as an advocate for the animals used in poultry production, but that does not necessitate opposing the poultry industry as a whole, which complicates deciding what position to take. Consequently, all involved stakeholders must be

Thesis Not just for our health but also for animal’s welfare, we need to be aware about what procedures animals are passing by and how they are being treated. Many of the most fatal sicknesses that affect humans can be prevented if we involve more in those harsh procedures that they suffer and try to look for new solutions to make it stop. Introduction Many times we are not even aware that our cold actions are not just affecting the defenseless animals but ourselves, our country, our economy. We don’t even think of how those actions are affecting the rest of the population, we just care about selling products and making money.
I intend on being more than a dog and cat veterinarian; I desire to help those animals, along with others, such as those found on farms, in zoos, or even in wildlife sanctuaries. I also want to do more than just serve animals; I want to change the veterinary medicine field by creating new and more effective medicines and curing diseases and disorders that are uncured in today’s world. Once I become very successful and financially stable, I would like to help up and coming veterinarians like myself. I want to create my own non-profit organization dedicating to helping those ambitious and creative kids support their dreams financially, and obtain mentors and job shadowing opportunities to encourage them and properly prepare them for their future careers. By doing these things, I would change the lives of both animals and humans; animals, by making state of the art changes and discoveries, and humans, by supplementing their already solid passion in veterinary
