Rough Draft Offshore Drilling Offshore drilling is harmful because it causes pollution and will not solve our economic problems. It pollutes our seas and is not a long term solution to our financial problems. It has been a detriment to wild life and it’s not like we have the equipment to expand it. All in all we cannot fix our energy problems with how we created them. (10) Offshore drilling can have positive effects but those positive effects can easily be offset by the negatives it creates. Offshore drilling does provide jobs and with more jobs , the better our economy can be. In spite of this we still face must face the reality that we lack the amount of oil to take away our debt.
