The candidates that are running for president are terrible. I wouldn’t want to picky any of them. However, if I had to pick a certain celebrity, it would only come close to Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney seems to show as the only person that could actually run in this election and be professional.
Recently a former republican presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, has said that the Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is on track to win his his party’s nomination. If he does, the chance for a safer future is “greatly diminished,” said Mitt Romney during a speech at the University of Utah. This connects the core demographic value of liberty, because Mitt Romney is expressing his ideas in public. On March 3, 2016 he said any other Republican candidates would be better than Donald Trump.
The United States fought unnecessary wars in Vietnam and Iraq. The war on communism, in Vietnam, severed the United States compared to the war on terrorism, in Iraq. During both wars the U.S. Military spent millions to billions of money, deaths were extremely high, and both failed to accomplish their purpose. Firstly the Iraq War dealt massive harm to the United States in multiple ways.
There is no doubt that the United States government made mistakes during the military’s occupation of Iraq. Outside of the fact that they should not have been there, the actions taken there were irresponsible and proved to be fatal. Once the nation was offended by US military presence, the society went into chaos. About 4,000 Americans died in Iraq alone. The United States proved to act on impulse during this tragic event.
Did you know that president Donald J. Trump is targeting about 8 million people to be deported with the vast majority of that number being Hispanics? The way that president Donald J. Trump won the election has been a controversial issue amongst the people who didn't vote for him, therefore making him one of the most hated presidents to ever hold office. Because of this and many other reasons including, being discriminatory against other races, objectifying women, and not having any prior experience in law and order or government, I think that president Trump should not be in office and should not have the honor of being called President of the United States. First, Trump is discriminatory against all races that are not white.
In The textbook “Presidents and the American Presidency,” Han says that the key to running for president is to appeal to the voters who are undecided and to convince the partisan voters to come out and support their candidacy (Han 110). Examining President Donald Trump’s performance from the first presidential debate of 2016, show how President Trump met some of these things but also did not meet them all. One of the things a candidate must do is appeal to the base of their party, in this case the Republican Party. Some ways that President Trump did this in this debate was by addressing the topics of: lowering taxes, restoring law and order, and pressing Secretary Clinton to release her emails. First on the topic of taxes, he stuck to the traditional republican platform (Republican).
“Going to war was the only unselfish thing I have ever done for humanity,” said David Niven. In Iraq, March 2003, the U.S went to war with ISIS. George W. Bush said the Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein, was hiding nuclear weapons to kill a lot of people. When Barack Obama was elected in 2008, he brought the last U.S troops home. He then took the rest of the troops out in 2011 because it cost too much money for too many deaths.
Being the President of the greatest nation ever is no easy task, the person put in that position has been put on a pedestal no higher and they are viewed as the leader of the nation. In resulting in being in the public’s microscope, watching every move and decision they make. With being under the consent watch by the public and media, even the darkest secrets and controversial decisions that the President makes will come to the light. Both former President Nixon and current President Trump had, in which in President Trump ’s case have, a controversy that looms over their presidency.
In 2008 Barack Obama was elected as the first African-American President of the United States and went on to become re-elected in 2012. During this time, the US has faced more terrorist attacks and threats than ever before. For this reason, President Obama should have spent more of his effort on reducing or removing terrorism threats in America than he did during his presidency, because America has had eight attacks in the past eight years, every threat becomes more severe than the last, and the previous attack was deemed as the most dangerous since 9/11. To start off, America is no longer safe from the unsavory attacks and tirades of terrorists. In fact, “America has now averaged one serious Islamic terrorist attack a year on President Obama’s
Lou - It’ll get worse before it gets better. Hopefully 6 months from now, we’ll begin to see openings for compromise and bi-partisanship. During the passage of ACA, Obama and Nancy Pelosi shut down all Republican contribution to the ACA and shoved it down the throat of the country over the objection of half of the electorate. In 2009, Obama famously rejected Republican overtures for bi-partisanship, stating “Elections have consequences, and at the end of the day, I won.”
“My fellow citizens, at this hour, American and coalition forces are in the early stages of military operations to disarm Iraq, to free its people, and to defend the world from grave danger.” (President Bush) In 2003, when President Bush declared war on Iraq, he argued that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and intended to use them on the United States. I think Iraq did not have these weapons because there were no real indicators of them; most of the alleged WMDs were left over from the Iraq-Iran war, and we didn't end up finding any. I believe America used the 9/11 bombings as an excuse to invade Iraq.
The element of surrealism continues to thicken in US politics this election season. A race for the White House pitting arguably the two most unpopular candidates in history has entered the homestretch amid gaffes and divisive rhetoric unlike anything witnessed in previous cycles. If Hillary Clinton outlasts Donald Trump for the presidency, as polls presently suggest, it will be thanks to her rival’s loose lips and inability to stay on message rather than the visibly underwhelming nature of her campaign. To add to this bizarre state of affairs, the US Congress in late September dealt President Barack Obama the biggest political embarrassment of his tenure as commander-in-chief by overriding his veto of a 9-11 bill allowing ordinary Americans to sue the Saudi government for its complicity in the terrorist attacks. Fifteen of the nineteen hijackers who ploughed two commercial airliners into the World Trade Center buildings on September 11, 2001, were Saudi citizens.
THE TRUMP TRAIN- A BRIEF EXPLANATION This American democracy, a long, drawn out process not without its flaws, is one of the central pieces of government that the wildly popular and controversial candidate, Donald Trump, is attacking in his campaign. When he says his campaign is "entirely self-funded," he is not only bragging about his popularity and independence, but also is taking a subtle jab at the current system in which some candidates get billions of dollars(Super PACs anyone?), and thus exploit the system by drowning it in money. In reality, this really happens, and a billion dollars can really give that certain candidate an edge over his competitors.
On November 8, 2016 the United States of America will have a new commander in chief. Well it be Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump? Based on the 2012 election and on the current debates, I predict that Hillary Clinton well be the first female president that the United States well have. On my “2016 Presidential Election Map,” I have the democrat party winning. I believe that the following states well vote democrat: California, New Mexico, Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Florida, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
People do expect a lot from the president. I think that before we elect are president we are focused on what they have to offer to us as citizens. However, to elect a president and give them a report card only after 100 days I think is highly unethical. Even as president there are rules to follow and ways things have to be handled. Sometimes are expectation are too high of are president.
