Through a treatment plan, the understanding of clinical and counseling psychologist will be identified as client goals, practices, interventions, and behavioral changes are processed throughout the plan. Based on the symptoms and behaviors, the recommendations will be defined from the appropriate diagnosis. Appropriate theoretical orientations will be implemented into the plan to help the client overcome their psychological issues.

The psychodynamic theory was established as they way to shape one’s personality. Used by Freud, the psychoanalysis was created to observe the mental behaviors of the unconscious mind. The way in which an individual take unconscious thoughts or emotions about another person into consideration affects the way they feel about themselves and the other person (Kte’pi, 2016). Based on one’s personality and emotional feelings, behaviors can change in different environmental settings and situations that arise. As a person create their personality, based on experience, their social interactions, thoughts, feelings, and learning describe who they are as a human. Cognitive therapy focuses on what people think rather than the things that they do. One’s emotional issues determine the way they think and take form in their language and image. Although, any negative behavior can be reinstructed and reinforced to positive thoughts, feelings, and general positive behaviors of one’s self. To treat depressed patients, the cognitive therapy is used to analyze the pattern of thoughts and change the patient’s mindset of how they think about themselves. (Beal, 2016). To help Suzanne cope with her behaviors, the cognitive therapy will help eliminate her stressful thoughts that lead to hair pulling to relieve the pain.
