Executive Summary
What is the purpose of venturing into a for-profit business? It is self-explanatory, it is common sense, and it is all in the words, for-profit. That is, to make money, to make big bucks, to get rich, to focus on the bottom line. Is it getting the money just for the sake of, no matter what the means are? Is it by the principle of “by hook or by crook?” Are the business owners forgetting something? That with the premise of making a profit from their businesses comes the need to give back to the community too, social responsibility; it is what it is called. In 2012, Revenue was at $50 billion and profits were at $11 billion (22%). Cash levels were at $48 billion and just $7 billion of liabilities (Jurevicius, 2013). It is no doubt, why they can provide all those luxurious benefits to its employees.
• Quality and customer experience focused – Google provides high regard to customers by catering to their need and giving them excellent customer experience.
• Connection to the widest group of internet users worldwide - Google has access to 79% of the world desktop search market users and 89% of the world mobile search market users. Combined, it has a very large catchment rate of the customer base to market their products and services.
• Innovative culture - Google comes up with creative and unique products every year designed to enrich customer experience. It still has many products in the developmental stages in its pipeline. The real issue here is deceit to consumers or clients who are literally patronizing their business and paying their salaries. Obviously, it is all about the money even if that would mean telling a lie or deceiving the public. Businesses do not care about the social responsibility anymore. It is just all about the bottom line. What will happen if the service or the product is not good at all? What will be the result if the service is for a dentist or a surgeon who did have medical malpractice? Saying good reviews on a surgeon who has a bad reputation can clearly endanger a patient’s life. That is not good at all. Those are just some of the worst-case scenario that this fraudulent practice is leading
