I've always been driven to do the best I can in every subject. When I was younger, I never really cared about homework or paying attention because I always thought that whatever the teacher was talking about wasn't going to be relevant to when i got older. Once I started middle school, that whole mindset changed. My mom was on my case about every single subject. Sixth grade was a struggle for me.
Every morning I have to spend an hour in order to send my baby to the babysitter and another an hour before I get on campus. As I spending two hours in the morning to get on campus and two hours to get home was through for me. Sometimes, I am late to class, missed examinations or missed the beginning of every topic with the early morning classes. This made me feel tensed and uncomfortable in those classes. Some professors, it was okay with them, but others it was a tag of war.
Going to an HBCU further sparked my interest for the African American community and its distinctive culture. Experiencing the oldest HBCU in the South I was embodied by African American history which made me more aware of the need for acknowledging
All my life I have been surrounded by the HBCU communities within each of their schools. I have found it being comforting, a grand lifestyle and most importantly an opportunity to be successful. My cousin who attends Morehouse College inspired me. The second reason that influenced me was that I found out that HBCUs offers many academic programs just like most colleges and universities.
I want to go to college because I want to continue this journey of growth. I want to become the best I can be. I want all the teachers, coaches, and the community that has affected my life to be as proud as I am to lead the largest successful organizations for student’s
MESA is an organization I wish to join because math and science are my favorite subjects. Learning is valuable to me and I try to promote creativity into my work. I am an efficient student and if I joined MESA, I would hugely benefit from it. A profession involving math and science is definitely something I aspire for in my future and MESA is a smart way to assist in reaching that goal. I perform well on my classwork, tests, and quizzes.
I believe that I exemplify the characteristics of a National Honor Society Member. As shown by my introduction to the candidate process, I strive to demonstrate my commitment to the ideal of being a good scholar. I work as a leader in the classroom helping my fellow peers and outside of school as a leader for my Boy Scout troop. I try to serve the community to the best of my ability and to help out in the classroom. I demonstrate my character by being responsible, trustworthy and following a strong moral compass.
I attended college right after college because I wanted to add to what I’ve already learned in high school. Also I knew what I wanted to do and be in life. The things that was taught in high school was still be fresh to me. I was one of the fortune students who qualified for TOPS and federal grants to pay for my pricy tuition. I think if I would have had to pay out of pocket for tuition, I would have been one of those who would have set out for a while before attending.
Though there are many individuals who believe that college is not for everyone, attending college and getting a higher education can open the gates to many tremendous life changing opportunities such as becoming healthier, begin able to secure jobs, and earning more financially.
Overall, I wish to attend college to better all aspects of my life. I desire to maximize my potential and work ethic to become better. Being a first generation student will not be easy, for I have no one to tell me about experiences. I am very proud and honored to tell people that I am in college.
I am committed to my education because I realize that it is a unique privilege ensured by the service of America’s military heroes, and numerous women around the world are denied an education. These heroes are what make America a land of
Being one of the first ones in my family to graduate has always been part of my plan. Getting into college is the easy part. You think you have it all figured out until you realize you can probably never afford to buy all your books or pay for the courses you need. That’s when you look towards financial aid and you start filling out scholarships.
I throw myself into my studies, because school has never come easy to me. Motivation to be academically successful as everyone else has always driven me. I refuse to let my failures or difficulties stop me from trying and pushing forward. I have changed in many ways while attending Roncalli in ways that I am so grateful for. I feel like I am constantly being prepared to conquer college and I always feel like I am set up for success by teachers and even myself.
My interest in these passions shepherded me into the habits of being a diligent student. My school life takes significant priority in my life. I enjoy learning and improving myself, for I know that it will lead me to what I choose in my future. However, right now, I carry seventeen years of age, and there is still no definitive way of knowing where I will head. What I do know, though, is that these ideas have been important to me for a long time, and they have affected who I am as a person.
If a person does not respect and value time he or she will always lack in some way or the other. From this harsh but valuable experience I learnt that no matter where you go you will always have to deal with people who may lack in social skills and may not want to blend in as much as you do. Even though people may not realize it but they might hurt others feelings unknowingly due to the lack of communication or social skills by ignoring or just not replying to a question, comment or concern. English 100 was not the only course where I faced such difficulty but there were many other courses which made me go through such experiences of not having as hard working group members as me. Usually I was put in to groups which did not want to work until the very last minute or who would try to find an easy way out of doing
