Research Question Refinement:
My research project question is “How do the health effects of smoking impact on resources available to South Australians through the health care system?” As I have lost relatives due to smoking I became interested in the topic. After seeing how many people out the front of The Royal Adelaide Hospital I wanted to know how smoking would impact the health care system in South Australia. Mrs Guthrie took my initial idea of “How smoking (Tabaco/cigarettes) affects the public and private health care system?” and helped me refine it to the question that I have now.
What I am looking forward to learning in this research project is how smoking not only affects the individual, but also how it affects the wider community …show more content…

These will be the secondary sources as the information that will be gathered is not my own research. The primary resources that will be used will include a single interview with a member/worker of the Department of Health over email. I will also be using a single online survey that I will post on an Informative smoking page on Reddit. To store my sources and information I will be using the website “Only2Clicks”.
I will be using a traditional note pad to write down my thoughts throughout the Research Project. It is easier for me to instantly write down my thought on a piece of paper rather than onto a Word document.

Newspapers present their information in a way that persuades the reader to continue reading (e.g. starting off article with bold statement, creating drama around the topic) whereas scientific and well-researched papers are clearly formatted to allow the reader to gain and use that information.
The third Literacy Capability that I will be using is the asking questions, expressing opinions, and taking different perspectives into account. As I also want to find out the ethics and the publics views behind any changes that could happen or I could estimate on finding out the publics opinion through opinion poll and or surveys. If a new legislation such as ‘Outlawing the sale of Tabbcoo’ were introduced it would be vital that I knew or hand the opputunity to find out that information by asking questions and taking into account the views of other
