Secondly, since Ralph was the leader at the beginning of the story his actions were good. He did what a good leader should do in order to keep the group. When Jack lost the vote, Ralph asked the choirboys to serve as hunters and have Jack be their leader. As he was thinking of possibilities to get rescued , he came up with an idea and asked the boys to build a large signal fire altogether at the top of the mountain. So that whenever any ships pass they might see the fire and know that people are trapped on the island. Ralph also gives an idea of building huts. Meanwhile Jack focuses on hunting.
