MORGANTOWN, W.Va.--Despite having a four-run lead after seven innings, the West Virginia University baseball team lost to No. 3 TCU 8-6 in front of a record 3.415 fans at Monongalia County Ballpark on Saturday afternoon. The Mountaineers (20-13, 7-4 Big 12) scored six runs in each of the first four innings on 10 hits. The Horned Frogs (28-6, 9-2 Big 12) rallied with a run in the sixth and five runs in the eighth inning. Michael Grove had another strong outing, tossing seven innings.

WVU (10-4) begins conference play after defeating Redford 6-2 on Tuesday night. Sophomore Shaun Corso led the offense with two hits and a career-high four RBI, including the game-winner in the third. Freshman Jimmy Galusky and senior KC Huth are leading the Mountaineers ' offense with .333 clips. Freshman Darius Hill has knocked in a team-leading 11 RBI for WVU.

The Little Rock Nine was a group of nine high school African American high school students that were prevented the right to go to Little Rock High School located in the capital of Arkansas. The nine students' names were Ernest Green, Elizabeth Eckford, Jefferson Thomas, Terrence Roberts, Carlotta Walls LaNier, Minnijean Brown, Gloria Ray Karlmark,, Thelma Mothershed, and Melba Pattillo Beals. The Little Rock Nine had a test to the Brown vs Board of education which was a court case resulting in segregation to be unconstitutional. Let's start from the very beginning. The Brown vs Board of Education case was happening because Oliver Brown of Topeka Kansas wanted to integrate schools instead of the segregation that was taking place.

Some sources state that the term is in reference to when the Native Americans would paint their faces red, but others proclaim it's related to the scalping incidents. During the mid-19th century, authorities offered bounties for the scalps of Indians and referred to them as redskins. The school system was not always the way it is now. It was not schools that were mixed with every race under one building sitting next to each other getting the same education. In 1954 the Supreme Court ruled that it was unconstitutional for schools to be segregated, in the case of Brown v Board of Education. During the proposal of the Equal Rights Amendment in 1972, Schlafly founded a group with more proactive approach called “Stop ERA” with one goal in mind, to defeat the ratification of ERA. After the success of the “Stop ERA” campaign, Phyllis Schlafly founded the eagle forum, a pro family group dedicated to “opposing all encroachments against American sovereignty through…feminist goals” (Schlafly). Althoug the primary interaction that eagle forum has had with the womens movement was the ERA, they also are incessantly combating
Equal education for all races has been a goal of the nation for an extremely long time. This lack of equality is still a critical problem today. It started years ago with Jim Crow laws segregating schools and legally lasted until Brown vs. Board of Education changed that in 1954. After the new law, desegregating schools, was passed, the first prominent case of integration of schools was by the Little Rock Nine of Little Rock, Arkansas. The Little Rock Nine was a group of nine black students that integrated into a prestigious white school when the desegregation was unwanted by many white people.
At least once in their life, people make a decision, and grow to eventually regret what they have done and reflect on what could have been done instead. In the passage “The Rattler” the speaker recalls the time when he crosses paths with a snake and has to debate whether to kill the snake. The author invites the reader to feel empathy for the man and sympathy for the snake using the point of view of the man, attitude of the snake, and descriptions of the setting. The author demonstrates empathy for the man through his appreciation for nature, justification for killing the snake, and his remorse after its death.
